- Calibre has tons of plugins, but what I really miss is full text search for all my books (mainly pdf and DJVU). Is this implemented, is there a plugin available? I can only find feature requests that are years old and unfixed launchpad bugs.
- I have worked extensively with DjVu (and wrote the text extraction extension Calibre). I consider DjVu the better alternative for scanned multi-page documents, especially for efficiency reasons. Compared to the JPEG encoded pages you get in PDF or TIFF files you often have a 20x smaller file size.
- To enable comic book reading within Calibre, fire up Calibre and click on the “Preferences” icon in the upper right corner of the window. Within the Preferences menu, select “Behavior”. Within the Behavior menu, look for the column on the right hand side labeled “Use internal viewer for:” and check CBR and CBZ.
